Chief Judge of Gideon

This judge ruled in the land of Gideon when Korihor began preaching his anti-Christian doctrine around 74 BC. Korihor began spreading his lies in Zarahemla and then went over to Jershon, where the people of Ammon expelled him. In Gideon he continued his perverted ways until he was brought before this Chief Judge along with Giddonah, the high priest, who asked him, “Why do ye go about perverting the ways of the Lord? Why do ye teach this people that there shall be no Christ, to interrupt their rejoicings? Why do ye speak against all the prophecies of the holy prophets?”. In response, Korihor entered into a diatribe about the greed of the ministers of the Church and the error of the Christian message. Giddonah and this chief judge of the land both saw that it was fruitless to contend with such a closed mind and hardened heart. Consequently, they delivered Korihor to Alma, who silenced the anti-Christ.
