Minon

Nephite land on west bank of river Sidon

Minon

Minon was a land lying “above the land of Zarahemla, in the course of the land of Nephi,” named once in the record (Alma 2:24). It appears in the account of the war against the Amlicites: Alma2 sent four spies — Zeram, Amnor, Manti, and Limher — with their men to follow the Amlicite camp and learn its plans (Alma 2:21-22). The spies returned to the Nephite camp in haste, astonished and struck with fear, reporting that in the land of Minon they had seen a numerous host of Lamanites whom the Amlicites had joined (Alma 2:23-24). They added that this combined force was already upon the Nephites in that land, who were fleeing before them with their flocks, wives, and children toward the Nephite city (Alma 2:25).
