Abinadom

Abinadom, son of Chemish and father of Amaleki, was a Nephite record keeper whose entry in the book of Omni runs to two verses. He reports seeing much war and contention between the Nephites and the Lamanites, and says he took the lives of many Lamanites with his own sword in defense of his brethren (Omni 1:10).

Abinadom states that the record of his people was engraved on plates kept by the kings, according to the generations, and that he knew of no revelation or prophecy beyond what had already been written, holding that what was written was sufficient (Omni 1:11). He recorded no revelation or prophecy of his own (Omni 1:10-11). The plates passed from him to his son Amaleki, who later delivered them to King Benjamin (Omni 1:12).
