Shez's Robber

An unnamed robber who killed the rebellious son of the Jaredite king Shez. King Shez, a descendant of Heth, built up a kingdom and walked in the ways of the Lord (Ether 10:2). His eldest son, also named Shez, rebelled against him (Ether 10:3).

The record states that the younger Shez “was smitten by the hand of a robber, because of his exceeding riches, which brought peace again unto his father” (Ether 10:3). The robber’s identity and any motive beyond the riches are not given; this single verse is the only mention.
