Noah¹

Noah, ancient patriarch of the Old Testament, is mentioned in the Book of Mormon several times. In one passage Amulek warned the people of his native city, Ammonihah, to repent and avoid the judgments of God. “Yea, and I say unto you that if it were not for the prayers of the righteous, who are now in the land, that ye would even now be visited with utter destruction; yet it would not be by flood, as were the people in the days of Noah, but it would be by famine, and by pestilence, and the sword”. In a later passage the Savior quoted from Isaiah 54 where “the waters of Noah” are referenced. In the Book of Ether, the barges of the Jaredites are compared in tightness with the ark of Noah. All other references to Noah in the Book of Mormon apply to wicked King Noah, the son of Zeniff.
