Moron

Moron was a king in the Jaredite line, son of Ethem, who reigned after his father and did “that which was wicked before the Lord” (Ether 11:14).

During his reign a rebellion arose out of the secret combination built up to get power and gain. A man who rose to power in iniquity gave battle to Moron, took half the kingdom, and held it for many years (Ether 11:15). Moron later overthrew this rival and regained the whole kingdom (Ether 11:16). A second challenger then arose, a descendant of the brother of Jared, who overthrew Moron and took the kingdom; Moron lived in captivity for the rest of his life (Ether 11:17-18).

While in captivity Moron fathered Coriantor (Ether 11:18; 1:7). Ether, who wrote the Jaredite record, was a descendant of Coriantor (Ether 1:6).
