One of King Lamoni’s servants spoke for the group that tended the king’s flocks with Ammon at the water of Sebus, where Ammon drove off the Lamanites who scattered them and slew or disarmed his attackers (Alma 17:26-39). When Lamoni questioned the servants and concluded that Ammon was more than a man, perhaps the Great Spirit, they answered, “Whether he be the Great Spirit or a man, we know not; but this much we do know, that he cannot be slain by the enemies of the king” (Alma 18:3).
Later, when Ammon entered the king’s presence and turned to leave, one of the servants asked him to stay, addressing him as “Rabbanah, which is, being interpreted, powerful or great king” (Alma 18:13).
