Kimnor was a Jaredite, named once as the father of Akish (Ether 8:10). He appears only through his son. When Jared lost the kingdom to his brothers and grieved over it, his daughter proposed a plan to win it back: she would dance before Akish, the son of Kimnor, so that he would desire her in marriage, and Jared would give her on the condition that Akish bring him the head of Jared’s father, King Omer (Ether 8:8-10). Akish desired her and agreed (Ether 8:11-12). He then gathered his kinsfolk and bound them with secret oaths handed down from Cain, forming a secret combination (Ether 8:13-18).
