Giddonah was the father of Amulek, the missionary who became Alma the Younger’s companion at Ammonihah. He was the son of Ishmael and a descendant of Aminadi, the man who interpreted the writing on the wall of the temple, written by the finger of God (Alma 10:2-3).
Amulek received Alma into his house and fed him, and Alma blessed the household, including Amulek’s women, children, father, and kinsfolk (Alma 8:20-27, 10:11). When Amulek forsook his gold, silver, and possessions for the word of God, he was rejected by his former friends and by his father and his kindred (Alma 15:16).
