Record of Alma is a record “written upon the plates of Nephi” that ended in the eighteenth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi (Alma 44:24).
King Mosiah conferred “all the records, and also the interpreters” upon Alma, the son of Alma, and commanded him to keep and preserve them. Mosiah also commanded Alma to “keep a record of the people,” handing the records down from one generation to another (Mosiah 28:20).
