Plains of Heshlon (Mesoamerica geography model)

Battlegroud of Coriantum and Shared

Plains of Heshlon (Mesoamerica geography model)

The Plains of Heshlon are mentioned as the location where a significant battle in the Jaredite record, as recorded in the Book of Ether, took place. After several days of fierce combat in the valley of Gilgal, Coriantumr and his forces finally triumphed over Shared, with Coriantumr relentlessly pursuing Shared until they reached the Plains of Heshlon. Contrary to the outcome in the valley of Gilgal, it was in the Plains of Heshlon where Shared was able to turn the tides of battle. Shared valiantly fought against Coriantumr and ultimately gained the advantage, driving his enemy back towards the valley of Gilgal (Ether 13:28-29). This region thus served as a pivotal site in the Jaredite military confrontations, marking a rare instance when Coriantumr, who was locked in a protracted and devastating war for the kingship, faced defeat and was forced to retreat.
