Neum is named once in scripture, in Nephi¹’s record, as one of the prophets whose words foretold the death of the Messiah. Nephi¹ lists him alongside an angel, Zenock, and Zenos: the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob would yield himself into the hands of wicked men, to be lifted up according to the words of the angel and Zenock, to be crucified according to the words of Neum, and to be buried in a sepulchre according to the words of Zenos (1 Nephi 19:10).
Of these prophecies, the crucifixion is the one attributed specifically to Neum. The verse gives no further detail about his life, ministry, or era, and his name appears nowhere else in the record.
