The Sea North is named once in the record, as the northern bound of the area the Nephites came to occupy. In the forty-sixth year of the reign of the judges, after dissension drove many out of Zarahemla into the land northward, the people multiplied and spread from the land southward to the land northward until they covered the face of the whole earth, from the sea south to the sea north and from the sea west to the sea east (Helaman 3:8). The record gives no description of the Sea North itself, its coasts, or any settlement along it, and names no event set there.
