The Hill Shilom was a hill north of the land of Shilom. Ammon’s exploring party from Zarahemla, after wandering forty days, came to the hill and pitched their tents there (Mosiah 7:5).
When King Limhi learned who the travelers were, he ordered his guards to stop binding Ammon and his brethren and to bring them from the hill north of Shilom into the city to eat, drink, and rest, for they had suffered hunger, thirst, and fatigue on their journey (Mosiah 7:16).
Earlier, under Limhi’s father, King Noah, the hill north of Shilom was the site of a great tower, built among many buildings Noah raised in the land of Shilom with the riches he obtained by taxing his people. The hill had been a resort for the children of Nephi at the time they fled out of the land (Mosiah 11:13).
