City of Mocum

City destroyed at the crucifixion

City of Mocum

Mocum was a city destroyed at the time of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, named in the voice that spoke from the heavens to the survivors. The Lord declared that he had caused waters to come up in the place of Mocum, along with the cities of Onihah and Jerusalem, and their inhabitants. The waters were said to hide the people’s wickedness and abominations from before his face, so that the blood of the prophets and the saints they had shed would no longer come up against them (3 Nephi 9:7).
