Nimrod¹

Nimrod was a mighty hunter who lived before the time of the Tower of Babel. During the period of the confounding of languages associated with the Tower of Babel, the Lord directed the brother of Jared and his group to take their provisions and travel to a valley northward, where they would be instructed on how to proceed to the Promised Land —“and the name of the valley was Nimrod, being called after the mighty hunter”. In the valley of Nimrod, the Lord counseled with the brother of Jared from a cloud and gave him instructions concerning the journey.
