Levi²

Levi is placed about midway in the chronological listing of Jaredite leaders given in the beginning of the Book of Ether. “And Corom was the son of Levi. And Levi was the son of Kim”. Kim was a wicked monarch who “was not favored of the Lord”. Kim’s brother dethroned him and placed him in captivity, where he had many sons and daughters, among whom was Levi. Levi served in captivity as king for forty-two years, eventually defeating the usurper on the throne and taking the kingdom back for himself. Levi reigned righteously and guided his people to prosperity. His son, Corom, succeeded his father as king and continued to rule in righteousness.
