God Has . . . Made These Things Known Unto Me

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

At the outset, Alma humbly divests himself of any glory or merit for the truths that he is about to impart. He knows these things through revelation—“not of any worthiness of myself” (verse 5). How wise of a parent to give credit to God for the workings of salvation and the blessings of righteousness. Let us seek to be born of God—and not derive our authority or credentials from any worldly power. When we seek to learn through the Spirit, the windows of heaven are opened unto us with light and truth.
