“Walking with a Clear Conscience Before God”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

King Benjamin again reminded the Saints of his day that though he was their leader he was no better than anyone else. Joseph Smith learned from the Great Jehovah that “he that is ordained of God and sent forth, the same is appointed to be the greatest, notwithstanding he is the least and the servant of all” (D&C 50:26). Having done all he could as a leader, even to the very end, Benjamin said he could walk “with a clear conscience before God.” Would that it were so for all of us.
