In his vision, Nephi sees the multitudes of the earth" arrayed against the Apostles of the Lamb. The war between the two opposing forces did not end with Calvary. The apostles represented the kingdom of God on earth. For did not our Lord, at his last meeting with his disciples before his death, assure them that he had "appointed" (bequeathed) them the kingdom as the Father had appointed him (121:35-37)
