Holy Order of God is the order of high priesthood to which men were called and ordained to teach God’s commandments to the children of men. This high priesthood is “after the order of his Son” and was “prepared from eternity to all eternity” (Alma 13:6-7).
Men were ordained “with a holy calling” and “with a holy ordinance,” taking upon them the high priesthood of the holy order. Jacob said that he had been “ordained after the manner of his holy order” and consecrated by his brother Nephi (Alma 13:8; 2 Nephi 6:2).
Those “ordained by the holy order of God” were “baptized unto repentance, and sent forth to preach among the people” (Alma 49:30).
