Harvest and Increase are the growing and raising of crops, fruit, and animals. Those who “did begin to till the earth” also “began to plant seeds,” putting seeds brought from the land of Jerusalem into the earth. The seeds “did grow exceedingly,” and “we were blessed in abundance” (1 Nephi 18:24).
The people of Nephi “did till the land, and raise all manner of grain, and of fruit,” along with herds, cattle, goats, wild goats, and horses (Enos 1:21). They had “abundance of all things whatsoever they stood in need,” including “abundance of grain” and “abundance of flocks and herds” (Alma 1:29).
