Jesus Expounds the Prophets

The Great Gathering

3 Nephi 20:10
Jesus tells the people that by teaching them from the scriptures, he is fulfilling God’s commandments.
3 Nephi 20:11
Remember and search the worlds of Isaiah.
3 Nephi 20:12
When Isaiah’s words are fulfilled, the covenant between God and is people is also being fulfilled.
3 Nephi 20:13
The remnants of the house of Israel will be gathered.
3 Nephi 20:14–15
The Promised Land land is to be inherited by the house of Israel.
3 Nephi 20:16–17
The remnant of Jacob will integrate with the Gentiles.

The Lord with gather his people.

Unless the people repent, they will be subject to the justice of God.

A “New Jerusalem” will be established in the Promised Land, where Christ will be.

The Fulness of the Gospel

The time will come that the Gentiles will receive the fulness of the gospel, and believe in Jesus Christ.
3 Nephi 20:32–33
Unified joy and harmony will abound as they receive their inheritance.
3 Nephi 20:34–35
Jerusalem will be delivered, and God’s power will be evident to all.

Israel’s Deliverence

3 Nephi 20:36–37
Jerusalem is called to wake up and come forth.
3 Nephi 20:38–39
Israel was sold for nothing, and is redeemed without money—they know the name of their redeemer.
3 Nephi 20:40
How beautiful are the bringers of the good news of salvation.
3 Nephi 20:41
Israel is admonished to stay clean.
3 Nephi 20:42–44
Israel is commanded to leave, but not too hastily, reassured that God is supporting them.
3 Nephi 20:45
Kings and nations will be in awe.
3 Nephi 20:46
God’s people will return to Jerusalem, and these thing will come to pass.

A Sign of the Covenant’s Fulfillment

3 Nephi 21:1
The gathering of Israel is a sign.
3 Nephi 21:2
When the remnant of Jacob learns of these things, it will be a sign.
3 Nephi 21:3–4
When a free land blessed by God is established, it will be a sign.
3 Nephi 21:5–6
When the heretofore mentioned works come to pass it will be a sign.
3 Nephi 21:7
It is all a sign that the Lord is beginning to fulfill his covenant to his people.
3 Nephi 21:8–9
The fulfillment of the covenant will be a great and marvelous work.
3 Nephi 21:10
The Lord’s servant will be protected.

Redemption Through Christ

3 Nephi 21:11–13
The remnant of Jacob will be among the Gentiles, and the non–believers will be cut off.
3 Nephi 21:14–16
Unless the Gentiles repent, the will be stricken by the hand of God.
3 Nephi 21:17–19
The Gentiles will no longer worship idols or wallow in sin.
3 Nephi 21:20–21
Humanity must repent and come unto Christ.
3 Nephi 21:22–25
The repentant Gentiles will have God’s church established among them, and will build a New Jerusalem.
3 Nephi 21:26
The gospel will then be preached abroad, in the great gathering effort.
3 Nephi 21:27
The dispersed people will have a chance to come unto God.
3 Nephi 21:28
The believers will be gathered to obtain their inheritance.
3 Nephi 21:29
There is no need to rush, for God is present.

The Abrahamic Covenant Expanded

3 Nephi 22:1–4
Infertile women should rejoice and expand their tents: barren households will soon be filled with people.
3 Nephi 22:5–6
The Lord will redeem his people and bless them.
3 Nephi 22:7–8
God momentarily leaves his people, but always returns with kindness and mercy.
3 Nephi 22:9–10
Just as the covenant with Noah promised no more global floods, the new covenant promises everlasting love and mercy.
3 Nephi 22:11–13
Israel will be well taken care of by the Lord.
3 Nephi 22:14–15
Israel will enjoy peace in the gathering.
3 Nephi 22:16–17
Israel will be the ultimate victor in the strength of the Lord’s righteousness.

Search the Scriptures

Search the words of Isaiah diligently, they have great relevance to the house of Israel.

Take Jesus’ words seriously.

Repent, be baptized, and be saved.
