In reply to yours of 28th Ult. asking permission to publish my letter written to Heman C. Smith some time ago.
I have to say that the Letter refered to was not written for publication.
In writing for publication I would be more explicit—and am therefore not willing to have the same published. My testimony to the Book of Mormon is true and I am admonished neither to add to nor take from my testimony already appended to the Book. And if I should do so must be extremely guarded under the risk of being misunderstood.
The Mysteries of God belong to the children of the Kingdom of Christ.
