“I Would Exhort You That Ye Would Come Unto Christ”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

Moroni’s final exhortation: “Come unto Christ.” John the Beloved repeatedly gave the same invitation at the conclusion of his great Apocalypse; see Revelation 22:17.

Everyone likes gifts. But there are evil gifts out there, too. Moroni encouraged us to seek every good gift but not to touch—not to even get near—“the evil gift, nor the unclean thing.” “Deny yourselves of all ungodliness.” Examples of the “unclean things” or “ungodliness” are identified in commentary at Alma 5:57–60.
