“These Gifts Come by the Spirit of Christ; Remember That Every Good Gift Cometh of Christ; All These Gifts of Which I Have Spoken, Which Are Spiritual, Never Will Be Done Away . . . Only According to the Unbelief of the Children of Men”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

We should seek the gifts of the Spirit. The various gifts of the Spirit surely are desirable and needed here upon the earth. The Nephites prayed for that which they most desired: that they might receive the Holy Ghost (see 3 Nephi 19:9). Consider the various gifts (see Moroni 10:9–16; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; D&C 46:8–30)—all of them “come by the Spirit of Christ” through the power of the Holy Ghost for the benefit and profit of God’s children. Remember that God is not a respecter of persons and seeks to bless all His children through His servants according to their faith. We are commanded: “Wherefore, beware lest ye are deceived; and that ye may not be deceived seek ye earnestly the best gifts, always remembering for what they are given” (D&C 46:8).
