The last two verses of this chapter are almost like a farewell to Moroni from his sorrowful and discouraged father. Of course, he doesn't know it but the final showdown between in the Nephites and Lamanites is several years in the future. But we have already covered that phase of Book of Mormon history so we know how it turns out.
