“Which Comforter Filleth with Hope and Perfect Love”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
Hope and charity-the pure love of Christ-are gifts of the Spirit that come to one who prays with “all the energy of heart, that [he] may be filled with this love” and to all those who are “true followers of [God’s] son, Jesus Christ” (Moroni 7:48; see also the corresponding commentary). The visitation of the Holy Ghost that fills one with hope and charity comes to disciples of Christ through faith, repentance, baptism, and continued obedience and faithfulness. Greater faith, hope, and charity are among the many fruits of spiritual rebirth and remission of sins.
