“How Is It That Ye Can Attain Unto Faith Save Ye Shall Have Hope”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

Hope breeds faith, and faith breeds hope. They work hand in hand to promote an optimistic view of the future, and they both center in Christ and his atonement. Faith and hope come from meekness and lowliness of heart, which are divine qualities of the Savior.

Hope comes from the Holy Ghost (8:26). The opposite of faith and hope is despair. None of the Lord’s people need to despair, even though they might live in environments of despair.
