“Men Also Were Saved by Faith in His Name; and by Faith, They Become the Sons of God”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

How can we lay hold upon every good thing? Through faith in Jesus Christ. Faith is the power by which we can do all things (see 1 Nephi 10:17; 2 Nephi 1:10; Alma 14:28; 18:35; 57:26–27; Moroni 7:33; 10:23). Without faith we can do nothing (see D&C 8:10). Faith is the moving cause of all action, for by our works we can demonstrate our faith (see James 2:18–20). Faith is the foundation of all righteousness—for the rights of the priesthood of God are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven and can only be controlled upon the principles of righteousness (see D&C 121:36). By exercising our faith (belief, action, and power) we can have our prayers answered and be saved and exalted.
