“It Profiteth Him Nothing”

Jana Reiss

Just as good works mean nothing if they stem from evil intentions or a grudging heart, people need to pray with “real intent” (a phrase Moroni and his father use several times), or their prayers will not be of any benefit to them. For example, if a woman prays to be able to forgive a person she really doesn’t want to forgive, the prayer will “profit her nothing.”
