This is the fellowshipping verse. It is what the Lord expects of the members of the Church when new converts come into their midst. It is the responsibility of the bishop, the home teachers, the teachers in the classes and the general membership of each ward to help new converts progress in their knowledge and adherence to "the good word of God." They should socialize with them and help to keep them in the right way, encourage them to pray and become Christ-like.
