Moroni also felt that the record did not set forth enough details concerning the responsibility of the elders of the Church to ordain the priests and teachers of the Aaronic order and prepare them to teach the gospel. Therefore, Moroni wrote:
Notice that there was no authority conferred on the priests and teachers to perform any ordinances. They simply conferred upon them the authority to preach repentance and the remission of sins.
