The two exhausted armies finally pitched their tents in two adjacent valleys and attempted to recoup themselves. However, Coriantumr finally assembled his troops on a hill nearby and challenged Shiz to come up and fight. Shiz tried three times to take this hill but was unable to do so. Nevertheless, Coriantumr was so severely wounded and suffering from the loss of so much blood that he was carried from the battlefield as if he were dead. Shiz did not have the heart to continue the fight but ordered his troops who had survived to return to their camp.
