Moroni gained knowledge and testimony by personal, face-to-face experience with the Lord Jesus. This is the opportunity extended to all individuals who measure up to the standard set by Moroni, Nephi, Jacob, Isaiah (2 Nephi 11:2–3), and many others. The Lord said to the Prophet Joseph Smith: “Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandments, shall see my face and know that I am” (D&C 93:1). Note what Moroni himself said in verse 41.
