“Now I, Moroni, Bid Farewell Unto the Gentiles”

Brant Gardner

Redaction: Moroni writes a conclusion—a farewell, both to future Gentiles and Lamanites (“my brethren whom I love”). Obviously, he has not finished Ether’s record, so this conclusion seems misplaced. However, throughout the book of Ether, he has combined the story with the moral. Here he ends the moral messages he has drawn from the Jaredite downfall. From the end of this final message on (the end of this chapter), he will simply tell the history itself.
