“Until We Shall Meet Before the Judgment–seat of Christ”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

It is worthy of note that it was these verses which Hyrum Smith had been reading in the Book of Mormon only a short time before going to the place of martyrdom at Carthage (see D&C 135:4-5).

“For a Small Moment Have I Forsaken Thee”

Jehovah explained: “Zion hath said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me-but he will show that he hath not. For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands.” (1 Nephi 21:14-16; Isaiah 49:14-16.)
