Wicked men cannot stand to have prophets in the land, especially prophets who predict the total destruction of the people unless they repent. The good king Com and been replaced by his son, King Shiblom. But his brother provoked a rebellion against the Shiblom and genocidal warfare broke out among the people. Soon a mammoth tidal wave of evil and destruction broke out all up and down the land northward.
