Amgid is the only king named in those six generations of usurping kings. During his reign, Com frees himself enough to establish a separate city-kingdom, suggesting that some form of social change or decay had eroded Amgid’s power. He not only loses control of important captives but also loses the battle to maintain his kingdom.
