“Kim Brother Did Rise Up in Rebellion Against Him”

Brant Gardner

Intrafamilial political intrigue continues as Kim’s brother rebels. Although his revolt succeeded, the king-list ignored him as a usurper. Instead it shows Levi, Kim’s son and a rebel in his own right “against the king of the land” (his uncle), as Kim’s successor. This variation from the narrative history reveals that the king-list has been manipulated to assert the lineage of only a single family.
