“The Lord Began Again to Take the Curse from Off the Land”

Brant Gardner

The sons of Akish were able to bribe the people with wealth, but now we are told that the curse is lifted from the land, and the house of Emer “did prosper exceedingly.” We do not know how the prosperity under Emer differed from the wealth under Akish. For Moroni, the point is that Emer is righteous, and therefore prospers in the land.
