“People Did Revile Against the Prophets”

When a prophet comes in—figuratively from the wilderness, if not literally—the people reviled him, again following a model familiar from the Old Testament. The Jaredites did not appreciate these prophetic denunciations of their lifestyle any more than the Israelites did. In this case, however, Shule manifests his righteousness by preventing abuse of the prophets.
