The Lord gives two stones to the brother of Jared that will be used as interpreters. In a sense, this conversation gives both a lock and a key for the Jaredite record. Mosiah used those same two stones to translate Ether’s record (Mosiah 28:13–20), fulfilling this particular prophecy and foreshadowing Joseph Smith’s translation of the whole book.
