“Ye Shall Write Them and Shall Seal Them Up”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

The brother of Jared was commanded to write down all the glorious things revealed to him and then seal them up until after the Lord’s coming (see also 4:1–2, 5). Others, including Adam, Enoch, Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, Daniel, and Nephi, received the same instruction following divine tutelage: Write it down and seal it up. The only one instructed to write it and reveal it was John. His Revelation, the Apocalypse, was intended to be published to the world (1 Nephi 14:18–30, especially v. 26). We have at least part of what he wrote.
