“This Cometh Unto You”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

, refers to the Book of Ether. One of the purposes of this literary composition is to make all the world acquainted with the fact that the Lord has, as it were, a special encumbrance on this portion of the Earth, by virtue of the covenant He made with the Brother of Jared. People who make their homes here have a right to know that by living here they assume the obligations of serving the Lord. If they are dissatisfied with the conditions, they are at liberty to move somewhere else, but not to rise up in rebellion against God. "Blessed is in the nation whose God is the Lord: and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance." (Psalm 33:12)
