SEMITIC NAMES
On closer examination of the names of Ether's progenitors, we find a large percent of them to be related to Semitic stems. For instance, Jared means in Hebrew, one who descends, or, according to others, one who rules. Compare Genesis 29:34), meaning a joining. Aaron, meaning a mountain of strength; Kish, straw, forage; Lib, whiteness; Seth, put; Ethem, their strength Ether, abundance.
It is evident from this genealogical record that Jared was a descendant of Shem that son of Noah of whom it is said that he was the "father of all the children of Eber"; that is, of all the peoples later known as Hebrews (Genesis 10-21).
