“Ask Not That Ye May Consume It on Your Lusts”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

“Ask not, that ye may consume it on your lusts.” We need to be careful what we desire. We need to be sure our motives are true and pure, not asking for things just to satisfy our curiosity; nor to gratify the illicit cravings of the flesh; nor to yield to the natural man by wasting the days of our probation on meaningless, lustful, worldly things; nor even to desire righteous, heavenly manifestations so we can impress others with our superior religiosity.
