That is, we are to be cautious in regard to what we pray for. If we seek for and cultivate the spirit of inspiration our prayers will be directed and guided thereby and we will find ourselves asking only for those things which the Lord would desire to grant us. James explained that often our prayers are not answered because we pray after the wrong things (see James 4:3).
