“It Is That Same God Who Created the Heavens and the Earth and All Things That in Them Are”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

Throughout the Book of Mormon we see the prophets laying down the basic principles of the plan of salvation: the Creation, the Fall, the Redemption by Jesus Christ, the Resurrection, and the return to God’s presence for the Judgment.

Compare the teachings of Lehi (2 Nephi 2), Jacob (2 Nephi 9), Abinadi (Mosiah 16), Alma I (Alma 12–13), Ammon (Alma 18), Aaron (Alma 22), Alma II (Alma 42), and Samuel the Lamanite (Helaman 14).

Once again the Book of Mormon emphasizes that all humankind will be taken back into the presence of God, to stand before him in judgment. See “Two Inseparable Parts of the Plan” in the commentary at 2 Nephi 2:8–10; see also commentary at Helaman 14:17.
