“Do Ye Suppose That Ye Could Be Happy to Dwell with That Holy Being”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

At that Day when you are brought before Him to be judged for your works on earth, whether they have been good or evil; and with your own eyes behold the Lamb of God, will ye still insist that He is not? Can you gain say the fact that He presides over that august body there assembled? And therein reject Him. In that great Day, when the glorious splendor of His presence and of His Majesty shall illumine both the Heavens and the Earth, when they shall be rolled up as a scroll, what will it profit you when the Heavens and the Earth shall pass away if you do not know that bright and morning Star which is the Sun of Righteousness?

Do you imagine that in the consciousness of your guilt you would be happy "to dwell with that Holy Being?" Moroni, no doubt, remembered reading from the Brass Plates of Laban, "Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the uprightly in heart." (Psalm 97:11) Neither light nor gladness will be your portion "when your souls are racked" with an awareness of a life of sin while on Earth. Do not longer delay your belief in Christ, but put on His armor and be prepared for that Day. In the anxiety of his heart, Moroni made such an appeal to those who give little time or thought to the welfare of their souls.
